W e exist to provide for the spiritual and physical needs of the hurting and needy children of Cambodia through the gospel of Jesus Christ.
But Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven.” – Mathew 19:14 (ESV)
Before joining the Cambodian orphanage family, many of the children endure difficult backgrounds. One child was a critically malnourished girl suffering from HIV; no one expected her to live. Another was a young boy living with his two brothers. All three were surviving on one pack of rice per day.
Today, through God’s grace and the love and efforts of the orphanage caregivers, the girl is now a beautiful child with medication provided to keep her condition stable. The young boy is now 14 years old, a mature and intelligent young man who carefully studies the Word.
In addition to the physical and mental care of the children, our central goal is to focus upon their spiritual training through prayer and immersion in the Word. The head caregiver spends time reading and explaining scripture every night and the orphanage family consistently participates in group prayer. In a country that is 95% Buddhist, we pray for the conversion of these children that they might be used as a light to spread the Gospel in Cambodia. As a Pure Religion Ministries volunteer shares, “There are many reasons to support the orphanage, but I believe one of the most important is the impact these lives will make on the country after leaving the orphanage itself. In a place where so few people know Jesus, kids who are so soaked in biblical truths will make a difference.”
